Today is senior portraits. She had her hair cut and blown out straight just the way she likes it. We came home and picked out three or four outfits, just in case. In the middle of all of this, she had a MAJOR meltdown. We are in the middle of a heatwave and first, her hair started to frizz. Then she realized she had gained a little weight and a few outfits were snug. Then she cried for about two hours after that....ahhh the joys of a teenager. We worked it out-she realizes that she will lose the weight and then some when swimming starts. She also realizes that it's not about what she weighs, but what type of person she is. That was harder trying to get her to understand. Anyway, school starts on September 1st and I think she is really looking forward to it. I have applied for full financial aid and am hoping to go back to school full time in September as well. I'll find out sometime next week. Keep your fingers crossed!
